Aimed at late middle-grade readers, The Four Warriors has the heart and pure adventure of Narnia, crossed with the action and pacing of Steelheart.
Throw in a 13-year old version of Sawyer from Lost and this story has the potential to draw in even the most reluctant reader.
Two brothers who have known each other for almost 50 years!
In a time when fun, adventurous, uplifting stories are needed for the next generation, some of the best people to tell these stories are those who have kids, love them, and understand the ones who are living in tough situations.
Our four heroes, Sam, Fenton, Alexis and Darius, are all living with the loss of at least one parent, if not both. In their own ways, they are all trying to survive with the label of “unwanted," “left behind,” or "forgotten."
This is a burden that most cannot grasp. We do.
We come from a family with a legacy of fostering and adopting - our father had 30+ foster brothers/sisters, Erik has adopted four children, and our other brother has fostered many and adopted one. With this rich history being such a fundamental part of our lives, we recognize and have compassion for the unique needs and emotions of the most vulnerable in our society.
In addition, we have a combined forty years of experience working with students ranging from elementary through high school.
If anyone is uniquely positioned to tell a story from our hero’s perspective, it’s us.
